You don't need to know how to pose. You don't need to feel confident in front of a camera before you arrive. Sophie directs the entire shoot — every movement, every angle, every moment is guided. Your job is just to show up. Most clients say it felt nothing like they expected — in the best possible way.
The experience is built to feel comfortable, not performative. That's not a marketing line. It's how the shoots actually run. -
As soon as you know you want to do it. Shoot dates fill up — especially if you have a launch, a rebrand, or a specific timeline in mind.
A few weeks in advance is ideal for most bookings, but if you have something coming up sooner, always worth reaching out to check availability. The earlier you're in, the more flexibility you'll have with dates and locations. -
You'll receive full guidance on this before your shoot — outfit suggestions based on your brand palette, what photographs well on camera, and how to feel like yourself on the day. Nothing is left to chance or assumption.
The short version: wear what makes you feel like you. Avoid very busy patterns or logos. Bring options if you're unsure. And don't stress — this is exactly what the pre-shoot conversation is for. -
Hair and makeup isn't included as standard, but Sophie can recommend trusted artists if you'd like to add this to your shoot day. It's worth considering for a Full Day Brand Immersion especially — arriving camera-ready makes a real difference to how you feel on the day, which comes through in every image.

This varies depending on your package — but the focus is always on quality over quantity. You'll receive a curated, edited gallery of the best images from your shoot, not a dump of every frame taken.
Every image in your gallery will be one you'd actually use. Download the rates guide for a full breakdown of what's included per package, or ask when you enquire. -
Your gallery will be delivered within two weeks of your shoot date. This gives Sophie time to carefully curate and edit your images properly — not rush through them.
If you have a specific deadline — a launch, a website going live, a campaign — mention it upfront and it'll be factored into the timeline wherever possible. -
Every image is edited tastefully — colour graded, exposure balanced, and any large distractions in the background removed. What Sophie doesn't do is alter how you look.
If you've got a pimple on the day, that's yours to deal with. The philosophy here is simple: the goal is for you to look like you on your best day — not a version of you that doesn't exist. Sophie really encourages clients not to alter how they view themselves. You're more than enough as you are. -
Absolutely — and it's encouraged. Props that are meaningful to your work and brand make images feel more personal and more useful. Think: your laptop, a product you sell, tools of your trade, books, flowers, coffee — anything that tells the story of what you do.
Bring a list of ideas to your pre-shoot conversation and Sophie will help you figure out what will actually translate well on camera. -
Yes — if having someone there helps you feel more at ease, bring them. A familiar face can make a real difference, especially if you're nervous about being in front of the camera.
The one thing to keep in mind: sometimes a support person can accidentally add pressure or distraction. Sophie will always work with whatever makes you feel most comfortable on the day. -
Shoots are available outdoors, indoors, and in studio — depending on your brand, your vibe, and what the brief calls for. Sophie is based in Melbourne and shoots regularly across VIC and SE QLD in person, with AUS-wide availability on request.
Location is always discussed in your pre-shoot conversation so that wherever you end up feels intentional and aligned with your brand — not just convenient. -
For outdoor shoots, Sophie monitors the forecast closely in the lead-up to your date. If the weather is going to genuinely impact the shoot, you'll be contacted in advance to discuss options — whether that's moving indoors, adjusting the location, or rescheduling.
A little overcast is actually ideal for photography — harsh direct sunlight is far more challenging to work with. So don't panic at the first sign of clouds. -
In short — it depends. Two hours moves faster than you think once you're in it, and travelling between locations eats into shooting time. For a 2 Hour Brand Shoot, one well-chosen location almost always produces stronger results than rushing between two.
